Here's an expanded list of BN servers. Seems that some of them are connecting faster than the default exodus.battle.net .

I'd like to join you, but my game crashes - I installed the 1.09 Patch and wenn he trys to make the connection to battle.net the crash occurs - anybody any idea how to resolve this? (winXP SP3, compatibility to win95 results in not recognizing the CD)

Edit: ok, got something: after crashing a file called bnupdate.log is created, stating "Registry error loading key 'Patch\Patches'" - can someone tell me where to place this key in my registry and what to write in it (dword containing 1.09 ???)

Edit2: Fixed it, by looking through the detailed error report I came across an access violation by a DLL of FoxyProxy Video Utility^^ (and uninstalled it)

Here is a new challenge to those who suffer from the can not be joined bug on b.net, so play alone:

general rules:
- use the latest patch
- play in single player
- you are allowed to reload, with the exception of vendor-inventory recheck (especially with the witch, who refreshes after every enter to the dungeons)
- you are not allowed to start new game
- in town you are allowed to sell things, get healed, talk people for quests, buy elixirs
- solve quests when you find them (for example you may not visit Level 3 if you got the Butcher quest, what must be done from Level 2)
- kill everything (in case of the mage you may leave immuns for later)

optional class specific rules:
- rogues may gamble and repair their equipment
- mages may buy books and repair their equipment (if against all careness he runs out of all possibility of attacks, I feel fair then, and only then to alow buying manapotions)
- warriors may buy equipment from Griswold
