I'm a little bitter about Avatar, since I'll never be able to see it in the full-3d it's supposed to be.

The chances of an IMAX or similar type of cinema opening near me is exceedingly slim.

Although I do hear he is making a game side-by-side the film, and is putting a lot of effort into that, so it's not just a crappy cash in.

James Cameron is the creator of the Terminator films, Aliens, The Abyss, Strange Days, Titanic and a couple of fantastic documentaries.

Avatar employs more than 1,000 people in its film, with a budget of more than three hundred million dollers. A selected few have inspected a demo version of the film, and it's incredibly awesome! Or so Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Peter Jackson and a few of others claim.

It uses revolutionary 3D technology, unmatched ever. According to the viewers, the creatures and ambients of the alien planet are as if completely alive. They make The Lord of the Rings' Gollum, Pirates of the Carribean's Davy Jones and King Kong's...erm...King Kong, look as if made on Commodore 64 using Basic. That technology itself is being improved/redevelopped by James Cameron.

Well are you sure? Where do you live?

The game cannot even begin to be compared to the film, but even in the gaming industry - it stands on the place of the biggest video game project ever. James Cameron is looking over it. Here's a screenshot from the game (in-game!). It uses a similar (but naturally, considerably more primitive when compared to the filM) 3D technology:
