Here's what happened, I think:

The first "mounting" created a fake hdd in the c:\ld folder/directory. This is the folder/directory you installed the game to.

Now, the second "mounting" redefines the fake hdd. Now it is the c:\divil folder.

What you want is to stick to the first "mounting" and there you will find the divil directory as you installed it.

Have that ld mounted, and when you get the c:\> prompt and type "dir" you should see a directory called "divil".

thanks for your support,
it's right, the divil folder is in c:\ld but the dosbox still cannot run the game.

mount c c:\ld\divil
c:
dir
game

and then the same error message as before....

nono, see, you run the game from pure c: virtual direcotory, and its installed in c:\divil
now delete the game, unpack it again and do the following:

put the game in to c:\ld (for example)
in dosbox:
mount c c:\ld
c:
install
<install the game in to c:\divil>
now DO NOT REMOUNT DOSBOX
just type:
cd c:\divil
game

and each time you want to play the game again after you turn off the dosbox. run dosbox and type:
mount c c:\ld
cd divil
game

Just to add to russ' post.

If you open the DOSBox configuration file, either via "Start" -> "Programs" or directly using notepad, you will find a line saying "autoexec". On the line below that, you type mount c c:\ld. Then, on the next line you type c:\

This way you will automaticly mount c:\ld when you start dosbox, and the last line changes the prompt from x:\> to c:\>

Hey there; I just installed Litil Divil and started it with DOSBox 0.70.

The game seems to run perfectly, except that it only responds to the arrow keys on my keyboard. E.g., when I press 'Z' or 'X' (default fire button #1 and #2), nothing happens. I have already tried every other key on my keyboard, but none of them seems to do anything (including F3, which should normally pop-up the "Quit / Play again / Load" screen).

I also redefined the keys through setup.exe, but that didn't help either

Anyone have any ideas?

Tried the above:

put the game in to c:\ld (for example)
in dosbox:
mount c c:\ld
c:
install
<install the game in to c:\divil>
now DO NOT REMOUNT DOSBOX
just type:
cd c:\divil
game

Didnt work for me. Well, everything works fine until I get "the game must run from original CD" together with a prompt for mcdex (?)
