I thought about Fate, as it's direct Torchlight predecessor (and Torchlight is too known). I didn't knew that there are pets and fishing in Darkstone.

please try Diablo Hellfire. Not Classic Diablo.
As Warrior.

But do not increase Power only, Magic also.

Last: Magic Heal wand is abs. good esp. in levels 10+
Game is over at 25 level.

I finished Hellfire in my time, and have no any desire to return to Diablo 1 in any form. I tried. Too dark, too ugly, too repetative. I am spoiled with successors, it seems.

I believe that the Diablo series have importance in the history of RPG. Now, it is time to give more space for other better and more interesting RPG games...

I never played the Expansion pack, but what I did not like about Diablo 1 is that the character cannot run; besides monsters not being respawn for you to raise your level, items and money... just my opinion.
