Since the game is out in <3 weeks (April 4), it could be fun to share our thoughts on this classic. I personally enjoyed Commandos 2: Men of Honour very much. Commandos 3 was too short and the old Commandoses were not very good.
I think this first person shooter will ruin the old Commandos-feeling, but it will be still very detailed and realistic, something I always wished to see in first person shooters. So I am looking very forward to playing the game.

Sadly, I think it'll become more of an action game and loose some of its tactical aspect. Like you said it will ruin the old commandos feeling and with that its charm. We have enough FPS games, If I want to play a WWII shooter Ill play Call of Duty or Medal of Honour, why couldnt they keep the old concept, it was more unique...

By the way, have you tried the demo?

Played the PC demo.
Plays like, and feels like the Commandos series.
And thank god they removed the insane difficulty, so far only Commandos 2 was any good.

You really think so? I kind of felt you could just blast your way through the entire level. (Im not talking about the spy level)

The spy level was fun. I do prefer the stealth missions over the action missions. The movies on the website look very teasing and promising.

I liked the first two games. Commandos 3 was good because of the new things you could do, but it was really short.

I don't like the idea of the new Commandos being a FPS (or trying to be), but I don't know. Maybe it can surprise us all... :whistle:

I wait a bit till this game gets cheaper, then i buy it for sure!

I hope it will be good, and have the old Commandoes feeling, even if its a FPS.I saw a video on Gamestar disk (Germany only) and it seems like you have a FPS, but still the option to do "Commandoes Things" (Hide sneak and stuff).But if it gets hot (Detected) you can Shoot your way throug.

And there are too some Action missions with only shooting so you don't sleep in in front of the PC. LOL

I beta'd the online components of C:SF for the PS2.. it was rubbish... but they've taken ages to get it ready for release as that was a year and a bit ago, and I've heard they improved it lots, which is good. But it's not my type of game anyway

I never played any of the previous games in the series..
