I don't know if this was a topic already, but did anyobody think about integrating a chat in the forums? It would be a great idea, the shoutbox isn't really the same...
And this way the members can learn to know each other better than by PMing for example(for what I'm way too shy, anyway :angel: ) |

Yeah well there were already ideas of IRC chat, but those kind of died out...
And I too think that it's a good idea to make somekind of abandonia chat, be it IRC or forum integrated, shoutbox is just... slow...

It certainly wouldn't that I am sure IRC is one thing forum another, believe me there are many forums with IRC channels which haven't been affected one bit by IRC...

The point about the IRC suggestion wasn't that it would kill the forum (that doesn't make sense), more that it would be nearly impossible to regulate, and descend into warez and spam.

^ that's correct.
On a sidenote we're working on a new shoutbox which we'll host on the abandonia server itself, so most of the issues we're currently having (timeouts, white-pages, etc...) should be solved then... I know a shoutbox is not the same as an irc channel, but irc channels are just to time-intensive/hard too moderate and (unlike some other abandonware sites) we want to conduct a straight non-warez policy.  |

hum a chat on abandonia not bad idea but for that you will need a lot of moderator and integred a chat in the forum is not a good idee separed is better(sorry for my bad writing LOL im too bad with english writing LOL i hope somebody understand LOL)
