Yes, but if you laugh at it and keep telling it as a joke - does it become a part of a common misconseption?

I mean, when people know something from a joke it can still stick in their mind as a "fact" they have heard...

There's a very idiotic example from Slovenia

There is a pastery called Prekmurska Gibanica.
Prekmurje is a region of Slovenia and it simply means a part of the country which is over the river Mura. OK... Gibanica is a form of a cake, which iz made by layering differen things together, but "gibat" in the literal sence would mean moving.

So as a joke they "translated" it into over-Mura-moving-cake. But really just as a joke.
Yet in a recent schoolbook from authors from a differnt region of Slovenia, this was already put in as a cultural fact, as though this would be an official translation.

So... maybe making fun isn't the best way... yet I posted that link anyway as I though it hillarius and had to share it with people who won't mistake it for something else then absolute stupidity :thumbs:

Well, I don't find it funny at all. It is quite the opposite.

I am way to much science minded to find something which could mislead thousand of people away from the truth as "funny"... Just thinking about it get me down...
