I love salad fingers - I bought a tshirt in fact, but for some reason they sent me a french one, which reads "Salad Fingre" with an accent grave -which as far as i can make out seems to mean "Fingered Salad" or possibly "Salad fingers" (as in, salad has been known to finger things).

Ehm, there is no such thing in french as fingre.
A finger in french is "un doigt"

Well most likely the entire thing is just a joke, since Salad Fingers (still not sure if it's a he or a she) wants to go to France.
