Well, today I've been trying to download Princess Maker 2 but whenever I try, it always drops to about 700 bytes a second and I end up having to cancel in frustation. My download accelerator doesn't work either because it somehow doesn't like this place.

So is it always so slow around here or have I been trying to download a peak-time?

Hm. My download works fine (at 55kb/s right now), so it might be that the problem isn't at Abandonia's end.

Sounds like a 56k modem to me... I used to have a modem just like that. The easiest way to solve this problem would probably be to download the game on a computer which has a better modem and burn it to a CD. (The game, not the modem).

You won't get the same maximum speed here as you would from, say, fileplanet, because kosta can't afford it (obviously) but you should get a lot more than 700 bytes/sec.

I never had any speed problems downloading from this site.
I don't know (don't remember unless it is something special (like the 985kilobytes per sec of the doom 3 demo, which doesn't run on my laptop btw) what the average speed is from this site, but, the last one I did was Super Speed a few days ago at (according the the transfer window of opera) 50.1KB/s Which is very fast considering a) it is free, b)it is a "homemade" site, c)the size of the games.
700k/s is slow, perhaps something else was restricting your downloading speed, or just unlucky that one time??

Maybe your telephone line is "dirty inside", provider has problems, already downloading something, ...

i get 16 KB/sec, which is good by my standards.I have been having speed problems lately, but that's because of the ISP.

Well, my last download was kinda slow, but not THAT slow. Most of the time it's around 60 kb/sec, and I concider that to be a fast connection (one of the many good features of abandonia k: )

btw: All accellerators are blocked activly by this site, so it's useless to try.
