So, is it a good idea to get Windows Pro x64 if I will buy an AMD X2 processor? From what I understand, I do not need to get it for the CPU to work well, including the dual core, and it more depends on the BIOS of the mainboard and the individual program. So a game or another program will use the dual core properly only if it is designed to do so and it doesn't matter if you have the x64 version of Windows or not. Or will windows too (32 or 64 version) also work better with a dual core cpu without dedicated 3rd party programs?
Batch 2. Say I get the x64 Windows with the previous mentioned CPU, and all the hardware is compatible with x64 windows. Will DirectX games have a problem running, or will the run just fine? What about other programs like Openoffice and media players, edit suits, anti virus and firewalls etc? I will not mind if they don't say work faster, but I would mind if they suddently don't work.
