F1 is the help screen. By pressing F2, you call out the options menu.
I suggest you use the keyboard, because moving with the mouse is quite stiff for me. Arrow keys - MOVEMENT, Ctrl key - Fire.

Alt+Up - faster movement
Alt+Down - slower movement Mouse movement works fine for me under WinXP. *smoothes away* [edit] Btw: Excellent game, but I don't get very far with my broken thumb... [/edit]
