![]() I made a post here to try to get a game approved (Juilliard Music Adventure) without realizing it had already previously been approved. Before I could amend my post, someone rejected the request (citing that it's still sold, even though it's not; it's only sold by 3rd party people with old copies of the game).
Just want to clear it up so there isn't any confusion in the future over the fact the game is both approved and rejected. Link to approval thread Link to rejection thread |

![]() Thank you for noticing the duplication, I've merged both.
Your concerns are well founded, unfortunately the rules are that we consider "Fulfilled by Amazon" Marketplace items as legitimately sold. Even if in this case it's one of those limited stocks with unreasonable prices.

![]() And information for you and anyone else with similar doubts, the game is not permanently approved or rejected. It may, and often does change during the years. The game was approved, then we see it is sold again so the status changes. If the game was available for download and it gets rejected, download is removed. Once the game gets approved again, like all items are sold or something, status will change to approved, along with possible link (or in this case, ISO Cellar topic). This happened before, it nothing new.
This is also the case why games sold on online stores like GOG or STEAM get "Invalid" status, just like non-PC games, meaning it will never be abandoned again, since those kind of stores can't run out of stock. Well, unless the shop is closed, which is not likely to happen and surely won't happen over night without warning. Rejected games, on the other hand, are considered to have changing status, therefore approved, rejected and protected games are checked from time to time. I hope this clears it out for you. ![]() "Fulfilled by Amazon" to our understanding means that Amazon is the party actually stocking and shipping the goods.

![]() 1. In fact, those are not used copies. We do not take used copies into consideration, nor any of this "used-like new" nonsense. New, unused only.
2. We consider it only as long as it's Fulfilled by Amazon. |

Here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/Castles-II-Sie...rds=castles+ii (there's dozens more, but just wanted to give an example) It just seems like a silly policy imo. Considering most games, at some point, will be sold "brand new unopened" on the 3rd party market; that includes being fulfilled by amazon. It doesn't change the fact that they're abandonware. It just means occasionally someone finds a game in their basement and decides to get rid of it on the 3rd party market. Last edited by redwing634; 18-01-2014 at 05:26 AM. |

![]() Castles II has a description on Abandonia but it can't be downloaded. It happens with many games that were formerly offered for download. When we take the download down we keep the game page, and replace the download link with the sale one, or a notice if the copyright owner made us take it down even when it isn't for sale.
If you find a game that we offer for download as is for sale, at least FBA, we would have to remove the download link. Castles 1 and II is sold by GOG too anyway.
