Have any of you ever played Undying?
It's a game developed in something like 2000-2001 and it featured a horror setting along with a weapon/spell combo system that was quite interesting.
The story revolved around you as Patrick Galloway, having been saved from death by your friend Jeremiah Covenant in a strange encounter with several barbarians that seemed to have strange powers. After being exhiled from your homeland (this takes place in 1920 by the way) you receive a letter from your friend Jeremiah, urging you to come and help him with some problems in his estate.

Things turn out worse than you expected, with a strange curse lingering over the Covenant estate, and a terrible past history for all the siblings that have now gone missing, or presumed dead, yet seem to be sighted by all the manor's servants and groundskeepers.

The game had a very interesting system, it was quite dark, and the monsters and story was ingeniously well designed thanks to sir Clive Barker (a popular British author whos works mostly center around horror). One of it's coolest features was the "Scrye" ability, where you could use it anywhere, and you would be able to see events/sounds/images that had happened in the past.
The game worked with a spell system also, your left hand held a weapon (revolver, Tibetan War Cannon, shotgun, etc.) then your right hand cast spells (Skull Storm, Scrye, Ectoplasm) they respectively used left click and right click to maintain casting and shooting. There was a inventory system also, and many puzzles in the mix. What was so great about it that many puzzles required you to use Scrye to view other's mistakes, or see traps.
It was quite gory with the excellent Scythe weapon that could decapitate or mutilate enemies. And at times, it could make you want to hide away, cause it was so freakin' scary.

So... now that my rambling is done, as anyone else played Undying? Or at least heard of it?
It's quite hard to find a copy in stores currently, and even quite difficult to find one online, but if you have the opportunity, and you do not yet own this game, go ahead and by it, even if you don't like FPS games, there's something different about Undying.
