Can people please list styles of music (eg rock, pop) and post an example of the style?

And can someone tell me what style of music you would class the mario song as (not game). This has nothing to do with the "Convert This" thread. It's just the best example of style for a music assignment that everyone's heard.

Soundgarden (grunge) - Pretty Noose

Radiohead (rock by them) - Creep

Radiohead (indie stuff) - Karma Police (arguably their finest hour)

Also, couldn't you find all of this stuff in the Newgrounds Audio portal? That has loads of (mostly crap) music on it, all of which is copyright free.

Really I wouldn't put Creep as a rock sample, probably something from Led Zeppelin, or some of the older bands...

Go to www.download.com and click on the music tab. There you will have most genres listed on the left with most of their subgenres.

Creep, well, not the first name to come when thinking about Rock.

Though I don't like them I would say the older music from Rolling Stones fits the bill. The problem with Rock is that it is very broad genre, in theory everything from Creep, Elvis, Iron Maiden, Genesis fit in the Rock category.

This was kind of the reason I made this thread. I just put the other thing in to make it more meaningful.
