![]() I have the old Command and Conquer: Red Alert and I loved it on my old computer. Now I Windows Xp and it refuses to work. The autoplay menu comes up and I click install red alert. After clicking install a message comes up saying:
"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows application. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application." Would someone please help me. |

![]() Looks like you have the Dos-version of the game. Try to play it in DosBox, which you can get on the main site, and see if that helps.

![]() Perhaps paying a visit to this pinned thread in the troubleshooting section would help you better.
I sometimes wonder why I bothered to put that pinned thread up. |

![]() or even the thread which as i write is 2 below this one on the same forum, albeit confusingly labelled "Red Alert on Windows XP" which clearly gives no clue as to the fact that it might just possibly contain information about running Red Alert on Windows XP...
