![]() I remembered this oldie when cleaning up the pinned "what oldies would you want to see" thread. Out of curiosity, I went to check, and this is how the facts present:
1. HOTU used to have it for download before it went under (yes, I KNOW...) 2. I could not find any online store that still sells it. 3. Alien Carnage & Zombie Wars copyrights belong to the author, John Passfield. Proof 1 Proof 2 (altough Apogee still offers the AC/HH shareware version for download) 4. Gee Whiz = defunct (though some of their former crew have supposedly set up a new company) 5. ESA or its members do not seem to have anything to do with what was left of Gee Whiz. 6. Altough the full game occupied an entire CD, there also exists a ripped version that is approximately 6 megabytes large. So, the following points of the site policy on additions seem to be fulfilled: 1. No-one is selling the game: The game is not sold anymore. 2. No-one is supporting the game: The game is not supported. 3. No-one will get mad at us for placing the software up for download. Copyright holder is defunct, and ESA is not protecting the game. Sounds like it would be a highly possible (and very good) addition to the site, but before I take any action to that extent, I'm asking you to try and prove me wrong. |
