I haven't had any problems with incompatibility with Dosbox or running the game. But I've been playing the campaign (after a very long hiatus from the site and games of this sort) and it seems that certain unit spells, heal and Firestorm at the least, crash the game when they're cast. It's reached the point where the campaign is unplayable, as Maloch (4th continent) seems to like to spam fire mages, and every time the cast, the game goes under.


Anyone have any idea what could be causing this and/or how to fix it? I have a lot of campaign progress here, I'd really rather hate to throw the campaign in the toilet at this point.

I don't recall hearing about such a problem in the past... If it was well spread, we should have heard about it countless times and already know the fix by now.

Obvious first checks would be to see if there is a patch in existance which is higher than the version you are currently running.

If it is not the problem, then maybe the new version of DOSBox is the culprit. Trying the game on lower DOSBox version would be a worthwhile test.

Maybe playing with DOSBox options could help. If the game always crash at a very specific time, like you been describing, then a link can be made on either audio or video which is interfering with something else.

For anything less general then I would need more specific information like your OS, DOSBox version, the error message when it crash, etc.
