Self-explanatory. The legendary economy/bargaining game where 4 players go on planet, build factory's, make products and sell/buy stuff.

There's DOS version, but it seems to be rare....or is it?

Where's a DOS version? 1983? And probably not converted together with the NES one in 1990. Would really be rare.

[edit] Maybe I can get a hold of it for PCjr. I wanted to add PCjr games anyway. [/edit]

To be honest, I've never heard of this game... Probably because it wasn't really released for MS-DOS, but there might be a fan-made version for DOS.

Right. There is a fan-made version, called TZ Colony. I've played that, but youre also wrong that it wasnt never made. It was.

My sources are the list Underground Gamer wiki-page, which lists several dos games that have been missing from their collections.

M.U.L.E. (1983)(IBM) **missing**

The year matches with the Luchsens year, so thats probably it.

I have found interesting things

M.U.L.E.'s creator, Dani Bunten, is an interesting figure in her own right. For one thing, she became a woman rather late in life, having sexual re-assignment surgery in the 90s.

M.U.L.E. (1983)
Produced by Dani Bunten (ozark-softscape: Headed by Dan Bunten, also consisting of Bill Bunten, Jim Rushing, and Alan Watson. Developed M.U.L.E., Seven Cities of Gold, and Heart of Africa.)

Published by Electronic Arts

No info about Dos version...yes, a rare piece!
