'official hack'.. nice way to say 'lame rip-off' :P Not a lot of reprogramming has been done but the removal of the password and the replacement of the main character(s). Oh yeah and the intro animations ofcourse.
About smileys: was that the ascii character smiley (you know: alt-001 and 002) or the ':-)'? I only heard about the last kind of smileys when I got internet in 1998.. at first I kept thinking people were mistyping all the time
