Well I have but never have played it. So I guess I might as well try it!

I don't get it..I haven't downloaded yet because of the file size, but what do you have to do?

Love this game..Not as much as ADOM, but seeing it on here (Damn, thought it already WAS on here o.O) makes me wanna play it again. :D Go Nethack go!!

THis is simply one of the greatest games EVER! Download it. It may take some time to "figure out", but it's well well worth it. I've been playing Nethack off and on for something like three years now, have never gotten even close to beating it, but keep coming back for more. The sheer number of variables keeps it entertaining.

this is, apart from being the only game I play _constantly_ for over 13 years, the game that inspired Diablo.

just now I am playing Nakor the 30-level monk on my way back through the dungeon to the surface and beyond. I have the Amulet Of Yendor with me (the real one, not a cheap plastic imitation), my pet Archon is carrying the blessed, rustproof +7 Sunsword while I am using my Grand Master Of Martial Arts skill... I genocided mind flayers and demi-liches, had a chat with Croesus, Medusa and some major demons and being generous to the community brought me to armor class -42.

I am, of course, living on a strictly vegan diet and this game has already taken 80+ hours (real time). still, I have a feeling I won't be lucky this time and will have to start again...

so, is this enough to keep you interested? or do I have to tell you what happens if you find yourself being naked and drunk between a Succubus and a nurse (yes, this happens in Nethack)? if you find yourself in this situation, be sure to bring your camera...
