ok i downloaded this from abandonware-france.org (the english version)
and it has no sound. I have a rather new comp (900 mhz) with a sounblaster live.

Also it runs up in dos, can it run in windows?

Dosbox is too slow for your pc +ultima 7 as that one does weird tricks

Ultima 7 ran EXTREMELY FAST on an old Pentium 166 MMX I had, so what can you expect at 900Mhz? The sound doesn't work because either you are runing it from Windows XP (If i remember correctly, this particular game didn't WANT to start in windows). Try using VDMsound, if it runs in windows, or use the sound drivers and/or Boot disk here.

Seriously, http://exult.sf.net is the way to go with Ultima 7 games
