I was just wondering, if i have important software such as an OS on cd and want to make an EXACT copy of it (as i dont want to damage the original), what is the best method to use?
I tried basic copying with a cd burner before(basically just copying the files from the cd to the blank cd) but i dont know if this actually creates an EXACT copy because the copied version fails to work. Its as if the pc knows the copy isnt an original version.
So what is the best means to create an exact replica of a cd?ISO?Would the answer ye give me also work for game cds too?

Thanks, bazbazbaz :wall: :wall:

ISOs are exact copies. Using Daemon Tools (or similar) to read an ISO file on your computer will make the ISO act like the exact copy.
As soon as you put the ISO on a CD, the different (and unique) label of the CD will tell the computer that it's not original. Hence you get the "insert correct disk in drive D:" message.

For that, you use a crack :)

An ISO is NOT en exact copy. But it's a good copy.
For an EXACT Copy, use a software like Clone-Disc.

But...

This is the last question you are going to ask here about this type of actions..
There are other forums for this. Ok?
