I once had a dream 'bout going past plowed fields with them standing in it... and it felt so right I just adore them ever since. I'd like to be one of the shoebills standing on one of those fields, if I'd be a non-human animal.

Probably a housecat - that's a nice mixture of cushty being-looked-after with some independence. Or something that can fly, so long as it's nice and high up the foodchain.
