hey guys, Anyone know where I can find Magic Candle 3, or any of its prequels? I was downloading from Underdogs and forgot, and downloaded something else and got myself a temp-ban, so I was wondering if anyone knew any other places to download them? If they are ESA I understand :D

Then we probably wouldn't be allowed to tell you, though, right?

Well what I meant by that was, "if they are ESA, and no information can be given to me, then I understand." I apoligise for the miscommunication.

Ah, sorry, I must have missed the "if". Anyway, it's EA.

Are you sure? Because I thought HOTU was pretty good about observing that, and they display download links to all three games. I tried out one to make sure it was right (I've already got the title, having purchased it originally and copied it over to 5 1/2" diskettes years ago), and it worked.

MrBackAlleySka, if your double-download was as innocent a tempban as it seems, you only need to wait a few hours before trying, again.

HOTU has a whole bunch of ESA games....

Whoa--didn't know that. Thanks for passing it along. I've noticed they're pretty good about saying some games are ESA, so I figured they were consistent. :tomato:

magic candle III
I just found it when cleaning up my box collection. (and a few other nice titles as well)

I could upload it, but didn't have the time to check it status yet.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's EA it should be ESA-protected, right?

It's not EA. The designer, Ali Atabek, retained rights to the game series when his company (Mindcraft) went under, and he went to work for Interplay. I remember asking him why he didn't suggest to Brian Fargo doing an updated remake of Magic Candle back in 1998, and he said he'd try. Nothing came of it.

Now, Interplay's assets have been purchased, but Atabek never sold Mindcraft's intellectual property. And Atabek has never expressed an interest (that I know of) in preventing gamers from playing his titles. So--unless somebody can show these games on an ESA-protected list, I'd would assume they're still abandonware.
