Hi folks,
tell me what computer OSses you have in use. I love Mac OS X (if only there was DOSBox running correctly on it) and use it for almost every work-related things. (printmedia, design, image-manipulation, scripting, etc.) I run it on a PowerBook G4 (1,6 Ghz, 15", 1GB RAM, 100GB HDD) For leisure-purpose I have an AMD 3200+ with WinXP, 512MB RAM, 160 GB HDD and a Radeon 9600. Why ? More games and progs are made for Windows ... :ranting: Cheers, swiss |
I have a 3 years old windows XP laptop. I am satisfied with it.
I also have a 1.5 years old PocketPC with windows mobile 2003 in it. I have no plans or desire to buy an Apple, never had, even back in the 80s. I liked BeOS a lot, but RIP. I have no good feelings towards Linux so I won't be getting that either. For the future I wish I could avoid getting the Vista but I guess I might have to sooner or later. Though perhaps much later, XP should be around for the rest of this decade. |
I use both Win98 and WinXP, but I voted WinXP. I don't use Win98 all that much.

XP...which as not as bad when you hack it all to heck with reshacker and such..
I see you didn't leave many choices unmentioned in the poll =D |
Voted for debian, simply because everyone will have XP which is my main one really - debian might get more use when i can be bothered to reinstall it and get it all going properly...
|
XP for me... it satisfies..
|
Still use XP, because I like to play new games like Doom 3 and Half-life 2 and it's hell to get directx 9 running properly on anything else than XP.. But I'm building a second machine now which will run on Win98 and this system will be dedicated to old skool games.. In the future I will make a dual boot on my first system with Linux for Office and internetting and XP (or Vista) for gaming.

Windows XP, Ubuntu (Debian) Linux, DSL and sometimes BeOS.
|
Windows XP I use at home, and that's the one I voted for. I quite like this OS. But it work I use a number of different operating systems: Windows 2000 in the office (works mighty fine), and linux (debian and red hat) for calculations. To make things more interesting I also use Win95, Win98 and DOS v6 at the lab
