Is there any software to make songs instrumental ? e.g. which can simply throw out the voice of the singer and just retain the music?

I'm afraid that's only possible when you have a recording with all the instruments as loose tracks, otherwise the voice is part of the mix...

My guess is you're setting up a Karaoke set? There's a lot of cd's available with those songs... or you could setup a midi karaoke! Midi has no vocals by definition, but the quality obviously depends on your playback equipment... Read more about Midi Karaoke

What's wrong with singing to the vocals?

sometimes I do some funny works for which I need instrumental music. Plus Instrumental music gives me relaxation many times. It looks wonderful when it is played in the background in good shops and showrooms!

If you cannot find a normal instrumental version, try getting a MIDI version. Altough MIDI's are not as high quality and a lot of how they sound depends on the actual hardware you are using.

I've heard that Goldwave may do that, but I'm not sure how the copy of whatever they used was set out.

Thanx, Goldwave has a lot of features, I hope it works out.
I am trying Midi converting softwares also, but as said, quality is not coming as good as expected.

Your welcome. I use Sound Forge. It can't fix your problem though. I don't use it a lot.

It's basicly the same program, but I prefer GoldWave. Your only chance if this file is a mp3 for example, is to filter out the most common frequencies voices are in. There are plugins for WinAmp that does this automatically too (can't remember the names of any right now though) and it kinda muffles the voices in a song making it semi-instrumental, but you sometimes notice a sort of whisper in the background from the voices. I was actually a bit surprised how well it worked though, considering. Your keywords on searches for this solution might be something like: mp3, sound, filter, karaoke, voices
