Nuclear Strike [SOLD]

Would Nuclear Strike be classed as abandonware these days?

Although it is still sold by some stores usually for about a ?1 ($1.50) these only seem to be the end line stock clearances.
Electrronic arts no longer support the game. The old patches etc.. are still available from their site, but they are all from years ago.

It's also impossible to get the game to run under XP.
I bought the game brand new for 50p the other day, and was gutted that i couldn't get it to work on my system. If it's deemed abandonware, i'd be happy to upload my copy for the site.

If it's abandonware it should definitely go up on the site, a true classic. Do you need a gamepad for it though or can you use keyboard like in Jungle Strike and Desert Strike?

TheSmyth 03-03-2005 06:48 AM

No gamepad required, but it'd probably be better playing it with one.
Not that i can test it since i can't get the damned thing to work!!!

I'd love to see this game up too, interested to play it, see how it compares with the others.

Come on guys, at least a couple of you must have loved the "strike" games? :wall:

Timpsi 15-03-2005 01:44 PM

You can buy it from CDAccess.

TheSmyth 15-03-2005 02:00 PM

I know it's still for sale. I bought it.
But my question was, as it's no longer supported by EA, and assumingly no longer published, as it is unsupported, does it qualify as abandonware?

BTW - CDAccess seems to have a limited number of copies of alot of games, and $28.99 is a joke, when you can pick it up for as little a $1.

No wonder they don't sell much games. I paid for that game 5 bucks loooong time ago.

The site policy is not to offer still commercially available games for download.

Well, it is available for example at Cyber City Software as well. CDAccess just is usually the first one to check from.
