Well, i just wanted to check something with Last Ninja pack so I typed "last" in the search and it returned no result. When typing "ninja", search found it?
Just something unimportant or something's wrong? |
JUst uninportant

I think "LAST" is a filtered word, not sure... I'll look into it
|
try adding %LAST%
or for kosta try adding % % around the query |
Just a suggestion:
it will be good to change the search engine for it to be like : if u type K for example u get all the games starting with K it would be easier for everybody for example in this site King's quest is written kings quest if someone is looking for it he ll write king or king's and wont find it while with the other type of search engine if he writes king hell find it. |
I was thinking something like that too.
Say, Kosta, was search engine changed?? I rememberd that typing just two or three letters brings all games containig this, and now i have to type whole word, just like on the HotU. Something like first letter would be real cool. This was mentioned before, and i agree that new section with letters would complicate too much, but if search engine is set to work like this, it is so so cool. Or perhaps options in searc, like you can set search to "starts with", "contains" and so.... |
Good point, guys! I also had that in mind, some of the visitors may find themselves disappointed when they get no result and have typed only part of the word! They automaticly preassume that their favourite game isn't available on this site...
|
That had to change...
I remeber that when I put in Rail - it showed two games (Railroad Tycoon and 1830 Railroad...). But now you must type the whole word. This can be a problem if somebody knows only a part of the title. |
I think that those who know something about search engine code should prepare themselves for some work! :D
|
Well, its true, I did change the method of searching, and its like the one on HoTU now.... I did it because the last search engine was also flawed. For example, if someone wrote "island brain" as a query, no results would be displayed.... I don't know which one is better
