I just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing this:

After a few minutes of letting my browser sit on the board index, it auto-refreshes and gives me a 404 error.

This happening to anyone else, or just me?

taikara 04-02-2005 03:12 AM

It's not 40 minutes, it's more like 4 :wall:

I've seen Firefox plugged here, but haven't tried it yet.

Yes, I seems to experience something similar with my IE 6.0. Never managed to actually understand what was going on, but it might have something to do with the autosearch feature...

Anyhow I never managed to perceive any harm from it since I don't get the 404 errors like you do when this happen, I only hear a single "click" and that's all so I never thought of this as a threat or a real problem per se.

Never encountered this, and i'm using IE 6.0.29

I use IE6 and I get strange anomolies at times. At the moment I can't see the shoutbox. There's just a white space. I'll check to see if it shows up using Firefox.

EDIT:
Using Firefox I received this error message: The operation timed out when trying to contact 173519 myshoutbox.com. Perhaps the site that hosts the shoutbox is down.

Wendy: earlier I couldn't see the shoutbox. I think the host was down then...
Taikara: I never get that sort of message, on IE or Firefox. At least for that reason ;)

Hmm.

Well, thanks guys :D

It doesn't seem to be happening today, so maybe that was it.

Off to work with me, sigh. Restoring an old house is such hard work.
