New Canadian To Law Criminalizes "Breaking DRM"

A formerly dead piece of legislation Bill C-32, has been resurrected as Bill C-11.

Key Criticisms of both bills lies in the Criminalization of people who "break digital locks" (meaning cracking DRM, Jailbreaking a phone ect...) for personal use.

Im sure everyone intents to break the DRM of their own personal, legally acquired copy of "Game X" just for their own use.

On more serious note, its pretty much already frowned upon and somewhat illegal, so not much happening here unless they're also forming a government crack-down unit which rapes you everytime you hack a keycode of Sims 3.

But there's a great difference between its being a civil or criminal offense.

Of course in practice this law will target only websites and other big organized networks. There are similar laws already in other countries. And the current worldwide trend is that lately intellectual property laws are becoming more draconian every day. With patents we have already gone over the absurdity threshold (google for "patent troll").
