So? what is it?

Tulac 21-01-2005 05:42 PM

I'm not sure but I think that a topic is hot when it has more than 25 or something posts.

Danny252 21-01-2005 05:43 PM

I think its 500 views

Havell 21-01-2005 05:48 PM

Nope, I'm pretty sure it's posts, something like 25.

No it's not there's the wow! topic, that has 29 posts and 398 views.

I think it depends on both posts and views.

When there are some playboy's pictures in it? :D

In other words, I have no idea.

I'm sure its 500 views with phpbb. but this is some crappy invision board. who uses that? phpbb is easier to use, cooler and more widely used (therefore help is easier to get)
heck, invision board even uses php...

Havell 21-01-2005 06:04 PM

php is just a way of embedding code into html, saying that invision uses php is like saying that bread uses yeast. Anyway, just because something is widely used doesn't mean it's better (look at Firefox and IE), we have all the help we need in the form of Braindead, Invision looks better and there are more features than phpbb.

Actually, having run an Invision Board before (though I left it on default setting), I'm fairly certain it's posts and the number of posts required can be altered by those that can access the Admin CP. I also think you can have a different number of posts to make a topic hot in different boards!

EDIT: and actually Danny, phpBB is posts. I just had a look in the Admin CP of my phpBB and it's currently set to 10 posts but I can change it if I want!

EDIT 2: phpBB does have less features, though I've never found it to be seriously lacking anything, but it also has the most important one from my point of view. It's Free!!! :D

I did not know that.

One thing I don't like with this forum is that if you read a topic, it's still showed as unread on fron page.
