Oh hey, there's a chat!
So, I noticed there's a link to the chat under the forum link at the top-bar. From what I can get, its supposed be a staff chat. Cool, about time.
But say, is it supposed to be public? Its open to everyone and you dont even have to register to get in. And technically you could go there, change your name and pretend to be an admin.... |
I think I heard someone saying they were planning to add a password or something to it.
|
Apparently.

So I suggested that the link could better be moved under Site Navigation or Services, which has been taken into consideration. (and To Do queue) |
STD's admin did it, it helped us alot to report problems and solve bugs.
But I agree with you that it should be staff only :p However Stockholm syndrome or not, chatbox can't be replaced so easily. That is the real engine of our solid community. |

The forum tab is something you click on often. And since the Chat link was only link showing under there, it was easy to find. You didn't have to go looking for it. |

I still think it was better under the Forum tab, so it's nice and easy to find. |
Anyone?
|
They moved it to Services>Chat, Frodo.
|
Thanks Anarchy. But do you know why they moved it?
EDIT: But my point was really, how can GTX claim that the Forum tab was 'Not where most want it', since there was no discussion about it. |
Well this is the actual thread that motivated me to ask about the placement of the devChat link.
Then I actually only suggested that it might be better to place the actual link in one of the dropdowns that were already there for things like that chat. I got the impression that it was taking into consideration and that the placement would maybe be discussed about. That it was placed rather immediately under services, wasn't actually expected. :whistling: So if that placement isn't ok, this is the public discussion thread about it. So. If it actually would be better to keep it under Forum instead of services, you could ask adnanba or robert to revert it. :) (or actually get some staff discussion going) |
