:ok: I got this Blood Omen game working. Works great. Fantastic game :w00t: :bannana:
|
Great :ok:
Can you explain us how you did that>?? :bleh: |
looked everywhere trying to find a way to get blood omen working on an xp machine, seems that the only way to get it working is to use a patch that changes the original kain.exe to something more xp friendly, unfortunately this means it is impossible to use the cracked no-cd kain.exe in the rip making it a catch 22.
If I had the original cd I'd be able to play blood omen on xp with the patch but I don't have the original cd so I need the no-cd crack to run the game...doh! Just interested in finding out if anyone has managed to get the blood omen rip working on xp as I'm out of ideas. :wall: oh and if anyone has stumbled onto this and actually has the original pc blood omen disk (you lucky devil) the xp patch can be found at the underdogs site. http://www.the-underdogs.org just get the review and you should find a link on there. |
:tease: I downloaded Blood Omen straight to my C: drive...then opened up ms dos...and in dos .. you overwrite the crack kain.exe to the other kain.exe.That's it!

Huh?
Stupid, stupid, stupid! I'm running XP and this game keeps on DEMANDING the CD - which I obviously don't have, getting it from here! I tried the crack but the same message repeats. Can this title be played or am I doing something seriously wrong? |
You should run the game in the Dosbox. :)
|
no, blood omen is a windows game which won't play in dos.
|
I remember playing Blood Omen on DOS, but the version on this site seems to be the Windows version if I beleives what is written on the game chart specs.

the folder does look like a DOS one, with the KAIN.EXE looking like it was a dos app, so thats probably why you remember it as dos. |
