i can't start the game. i do what the txt file says and run the file, but the game still doesn't start. is there something else i must do?

I don't remember the txt by heart, so if you could tell us exactly what you did we could probably help you more easily.

You are trying to run it using dosboc or VDMsound, right?

if u have win2k or xp have u tried ttdpatch?

This site sports TTD for Windows, and it works flawlessly even under XP. If you can't manage to run TTD, downloading that version might be a wise choice. :)
