Quest for Glory troubles

I downloaded Quest for Glory 1: So You Want to be a Hero and I'm having trouble getting it to run. I extracted the files but it seems to be mainly HEP files and screensaver files. I don't know what HEP files are. I can't seem to get it to work at all, if you guys can help, let me know.

Have You tried DOSBox or just Windows?

DOSBox makes it easier :) Here is a tutorial

How about looking for the few files that aren't HEPs or SCRs? For example BATs, EXEs and COMs?
