Alpha Centauri [GoG]
I saw on a page dedicated to SMAC that the game is classified as rare (available on E-bay and similar site). Is the game abandoned? Could it be published here? Or is it ESA protected?
|
It's rare only because nobody who has purchased the title is selling it. But it's still owned by God Games, and ESA-protected.

I don't know if it is just me but I find that very funny. If you are in the UK try some of the budget range companies (xplosiv etc) because one of them has the game in some stores. Oh, that is if there is one common cd version for both windows and mac as I remember. Which might not be the case :tomato: |

Oh man this is even funnier! You meant G.O.D. games? As in Gathering of developers? I thought you were being sarcastic about E.A. :D :roflol: |
Well we have Sid Meier's games here (even though they are generally ESA protected), but we're alowed to host them, so maybe we would be able to host Alpha Centauri. But that would depend... Maybe sometimes in the future. If nothing else the archive would be quite big (180MB if I remember correctly).

Electronic Arts has nothing to do with the game, and if it did, I'd probably refer to them as Bloated Corporate Follies rather than God Games. |
Alpha Centauri rare? but it is still sold in many shops :/

And i would be willing to share it, but only if it is allowed offocurse. However if it's still sold than we can end the discussion. |
But isn't there the "only original games" thing as well? I mean, a ripped version would hardly be the original game, would it?
