Re-evaluating Princess Maker 2

The title say's it all. A popular abandonware title which I want back to the game roster, and the main reason is because there's no way anyone can buy this.

This is a unreleased english beta, which is clearly not available from anywhere unless some jackass burned it on cd and sells it as a genuine copy, which still doesnt count.

EDIT: http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/18...s+Maker+2.html

I support this notion. I thought we had it included.

This is Gainax's official site, translated from Japanese of course, there is still a support page => Link.
Also, accordingly to wikipedia there's a refined edition of P.MakerII => Link, which was released on 2004-09-30 for windows, it has improved graphics, sound quality and various other things, but basically it's the same game.
It says you can buy it by mail for 2480 Yen...Gainax isn't an ESA member, but Princess Maker is still an active brand (PMaker4 is for Nintendo DS) and they still care about the old titles, it's not abandoned.

OBJECTION!

I restate my point: Yes, Princess Maker 2 is supported. But the english beta of Princess Maker 2 is not supported, sold or even approved by Gainax. Therefore, its not part of the Princess Maker product line and therefore is abandoned!

Same game yes, but different product.

I just wonder if there's any h****i in it, so that I'll look it up somewhere :p

Explain me better the nature of this English Beta, is it a fanmade remake or a translated version of the original?

thought we were asked to take the game down. Not sure

This was the first official product for SoftEgg. Having worked on all aspects of this game when it was still being produced under the auspices of Adventions, SoftEgg took over the product when Adventions was disolved. Alas, the cascading bankruptcies of our licensors prevented the game from ever being officially released. The rights have now reverted to Gainax and NineLives, so please stop asking us for copies of the game!

Note: Princess Maker 2 is not, nor has it ever been, freeware, abandonware, or shareware. The rights to the game still belong to NineLives, Gainax, and their licensees. SoftEgg is no longer in a position to grant publication rights to anyone, but still retains the rights to its English language translation (without the source code and art). So please stop pirating the game! Thank you.

Last year, I met Princess Maker 2's creator, Takami Akai, at Fanime Con. It seems that all rights to the games outside Japan have been granted to some other company in asia, which seems odd, considering that our agreement hasn't run out yet, but I have no reason to push the issue, best of luck to them. I printed up a special copy of the english language version, complete with the full color manual, which I presented to Akai-san in a public ceremony at the convention. I said "I've been a bad father, the daughter has turned out poorly. I am returning her to you now." In the tradition of the game, I returned the child to the creator at the end.
The situation seems quite clear, am I wrong?

There is no actual information about who removed it, or for what reason.

Some digging shows it's status was changed to Protected in in September 2006.
