Game archives that need updating/replacement

This sticky is for keeping track of any games on the site that:
* are not 100% functional using the current archive contents
* are not patched up to the latest released version
* contain savegames/highscores/etc
* have a mixed up directory structure (I remember at least one where the user manually had to create a subdir and move some of the files there, and one other that needed a "Savegame" directory to be able to make savegames -> both need fixing)

So that we know they should be substituted with better ones as soon as we can do it.

In addition, any games that we replace should be checked to be within a distinctly named directory inside the archive (so that the user can unpack the archive directly to his DOSgames directory - however he actually named it - and not end up with a jumble of files) and be pre-configured to ust default DOSBox sound configuration.

Currently on the list:
Strife - version on site is lower than the latest released (1.31).
Replacement available? Yes.

Abandoned Places - some directory contents should be moved to "Data" subdirectory. Needs "Save" directory.

Hind - needs "Log" directory.

Master of Magic - needs different sound settings.

Aces over Europe - sound configuration is set to PC Speaker.

Monopoly Deluxe - version on the site is lower than latest released (1.50).
Replacement available? Yes.

Many archives contain highscores and savegames (I would say 40-50%), so it would be pretty troublesome to replace all that. ;)

Regardless, we should do so.
The saves and highscores shouldn't be there to begin with.

If you really mean to update some of the files, I've always thought that DOS games should be already configured to run under DOSBox's (and VDMSound's) default config (SB16 @0x220 irq7 dma1) when downloaded--EVEN if that wasn't the out-of-the-box config. It would save a lot of trouble with people asking, even people who manage to get DOSBox right and still they don't get sound.

There's also a problem with MechWarrior. It says change a string in DosBox v0.63 from mpu401=inteligent too mpu401=uart, but i don't get it, i can't find that line in my DosBox(it's 0.63 too)

Abandoned Places should have the Folder "Save" + "Data" created, then move most of the Files in "Data"-Folder.

anyways good idea!

Hind won't let you save your progress until you manually create a folder called "log". It should be already present in the zip, empty.
