This is really terrible, what do you think what is the cause, what could make a person do such a thing and why do most such cases happen in the USA?

Who ya gonna call.........?

Jack (behind) Thompson!

Why the heck whenever I type the word A-S-S the word "behind" comes up?

Shocking. It makes you wonder why Yankee's are allowed to own guns so easily.

Looks like the guy was an philosopher and idealist. Hopefully no video games will be used in this debate.

World filter....

I think it's not any more terrible than the Students that were killed in Iraq bombings. In fact i think there were more of them dead than 32 studens that were killed in Virginia.

Also having laws that allow EVERY person (even the mentally unstable ones that are on medicine) to own a gun doesn't really help...

The students in Iraq were killed because it was an act of war. This stuff always happens.

However, its not everyday's event when someone freaks up and start shooting people.

BTW....

Buyer: I wanna buy a gun.
Gun seller: Sure. For what reason: Hunting, home protecting or other?
Buyer:......other.
Gun seller: Okay. That will be 200 dollars.

a minor techicality... but revenge is the driving force of both acts.

He, he.. or how abotu this:

Buyer: Ugh! i just came back form my psichaitrist. He gave me some pills now. so can i get a gun?
Seller: Yeah sure. do you want me to wrap it up for you?
Buyer: no thatnks that won't be necessary. i intend to use it soon anyway...
Seller: ok. 200$ and watch you fingers

^_^

I agree, gregor. And weren't the US troups originally supposed to be a kind of liberatoring force? That is, freeing the Iraqy people from an evil dictator. And why are they still there committing atrocities against civillians? There are soldiers from my country there as well. *sigh* But we, the people, get no say over whether we send soldiers to fight in wrong causes or not. It has never been proven that Iraq was behind the bombing of the US Twin Towers. And it was never proven that they had weapons of mass destruction which was the other main reason for liberation/invasion.

Oh, the topic...Virginnia shootings...I think civillians shouldn't be given guns as there are a minority of people who go through periods of not being in control of their moods or themselves. During these times, anything can set them off. If they're armed, they're dangerous to themselves and others. Recently, in a small town near me, a man tried to kill himself. When he was foiled by paramedics who arrived on the scene, he assaulted one of them. When the police arrived, he threatened them with a double-bow and arrow. He couldn't be persuaded to put down the weapon, so he was shot - but not fatally. Before this incident, he was a model citizen who everyone in this small town thought was ok.

Jack Thompson already said that the video games are responsible for this. He said that even before the guilty was found, proving him to be a even more of an idiot.

About the war in Iraq. It is true that Saddam was a dictator, who killed lots of people. As such, I might be able to deem the war as necessary. However, the reason why they attacked was that they believed that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction; which still haven't been found. As such, I have very little respect for the war.

Let's just hope that it will take a long time until the next war...

Sounds to me like the Virginia shootings were an act of a very mentally ill and unstable person. I suppose people will be analyzing this for some time. The gun laws here are very ridiculous. The "Right To Bear Arms" in our constitution has made it difficult for gun opponents to battle the pro gun wackos. Time to make some modifications if you ask me.

It is true that the Weapons of Mass Destruction accusation proved to be false. However not only was Saddam guilty of attempted genocide against the Kurds and mass murder against many Shiites, lets not forget that there were Al Qaida training camps operating in Iraq with impunity. The same Al Qaida that is responsible for attacking the US and killing over 3,500 of our innocent citizens in one dreadful morning.

All that said, this war is no longer about the US vs Al Qaida or Saddam. It is now an effort to establish a new government in Iraq without having the Iraqis exterminate themselves. It has become quite a mess.
