I actually have a disc The Ultima collection. It covers 1 through 9 i believe. So i saw abandonia cause i was bored of the games i have now. I tried to install exult, i think the blonde shows now  , and i have tried to install my Ultima 7 Serps isle. Windows XP gives me an error when it is done installing the game. The error reads....
cannot run Pifmaker.exe Failed login application SO then i try to run the game, but of course it will not work. It just gives me the shortcut to the docs on the disc. I tried to find the origin homepage, but it was replaced by th UO stuff i guess. Now for the exult part. I installed exult before I installed serps isle. Do i need to wait until after i have installed the actual game? Or does that make any difference? Female, Blonde, Craving Ultima 7 Serps Isle......... PLEASE HELP! Thanks |
I don't think it makes any difference whether you install Exult before or after the game itself. I had trouble running Serpent's Isle with Exult myself..all I can suggest is that you check the Exult FAQ. Aside from that I don't know.

THe error actually reads...
Runtime Error! Program d:\pifmaker.exe abnormal program termination So do i have a chance to get the game to work from the files on the cd? I wanna play it NOW  |
Well I think DosBox might help you there.
First you need to mount two drives in DosBox, the CD drive itself and the drive where you want to install the game to, like this: mount c c:\ mount d d:\ -t cdrom Then try to run the install from the mounted CD drive, it should usually work. The game will install to some folder of your choice, let's say ultima7, and after it's finished, you can go to this folder by the following example command sentence, IF you would like to play it in DosBox: c: cd games\ultima7 If not, after the installation is complete you can play the game with Exult, following their instructions. That's it. Hope it helps you. |
