I swear this is my last problem for today. For a long ammount of time, Firefox has been considering rar files as something to open with notepad. Everytime I click on a link to a rar file, instead of downloading it, it opens it in a new window and slows my computer while displaying a bunch of weird signs. The thing is that I looked in Firefox's settings and it is set to download it, not open it. What should I do?

Oh, and note for mods and admins: I do not know of rules for this forum section, so I considered that i had to open a new topic for each problem. Sorry if I did the wrong thing.

There should be the item 'folder-options' when you click on Extras when you're in the Windows explorer. There you can look up what files are affiliated to what program.

Another thing would be trying to do a right-click on the download button and select 'Save target as'.

Maybe you'll get somewhere through this. :ok:

That works, but I was thinking of just clicking on a link to download an archive. Thanks anyway.

I was taught:
If you can't give a direct solution to the problem, give an alternative so people (employees) can work on... ^_^

That's good logic, but it falls down when you have employees/trainees that fail even to find the big green button labeled "power." :)
