Hi!

I have a problem dealing with games using SVGA graphics such as Ascendancy, M.A.X., Merchant Prince, Settlers II, Z, etc.

The colors displayed are awful. Changing the colors in Windows does not do anything. Is there any progam that can emulate some support?

PS: Plz don't say DOSBox, it's too slow

have you adjusted the cpu cycle and/or frame skip rate on dosbox though????

I haven't tried any of those games but I have played loads of other later ones without any slow speed problems. also sometimes you actually need to slow dosbox down in order to get the game to run faster as in the case of bubble bobble.

I'd like to have a non-DosBox solution. YES, I have actually tried to adjust both framerate and stuff.

Plz just tell me how to get SVGA done.

perharps there is no solution without using an emulator aside from getting a different videocard ?

Won't help, as far as I know: the problem is not caused by the videocard but by Windows issues with DOS color palettes.

VDMSound may just about help, though. (may, not will)
