As you may or may not know, HOTU has been in decline for at least two years. The last update was over a year ago.

There's a prevailing attitude by most of the staff there now that is what I call "darksided"; in that everything seems to be revolve around abuse of power and underming all other abandonware efforts. There's no real rhyme or reason as to how things are done anymore. It really is a circus.

I just felt the need to point this out because I thought it was really rude and uncalled for, especially considering that this site still actually updates!

I guess the person in question should apologize or else, well nothing or else it'd be fair to apologize though, because this forum isn't full of 12 year old children.

In fact we need some changes in here, but most of us don´t behave like kid´s, and we are growing, are working to keep this alive, but if the person that work that, work in is site, instead of writting this stupid sentence, them is making some contrutive effort, so like she don´t do that, to me the child in there... :ph34r:

Why should we care? As you said, Underdogs isn't going quite well lately, so why worrying about this kind of reaction? It was a great site a while ago, but if now their admins have nothing better to do than to critisize other abandonware places, its their problem.

To me this comment in the quote looks nothing more than a childish attack on the opponent because he's better. HOTU isn't the winner anymore, and they're jealous at Abandonia, that simple. Isn't worth much attention, therefore.

g o, I think your childish attempts at trying to create hostility everywhere you go is rather unproductive. nevertheless, for the sake of everyone else, I might as well take some time to reply to this, piece by piece.

Uh, no. I think the only person second only to Underdogs herself is oldwolf. hell, even John and morals are probably closer than I am, and countless others I don't even know about. So don't go on about things you know nothing about, please. I haven't had any contact with her for just as long as anyone else.

uh... I'm not "from" HOTU or any other specific internet site, thanks. Knyght from England - fine. Knyght from Europe - ok. But I don't think anyone can really belong to one specifc site.

No, about these forums. I think Abandonia itself is a fine and respectable site for the most part. What, am I not allowed to have my own damn opinion on something without it being immediately attributed to hotu?

Sorry? Undermining all other abandonware efforts? Then why have I personally:
Started anarchy back in 2000 - way way before abandonia ever existed (updates soon - really)?
Written some of the code for the backend of Abandoned Places?
Updated for substantial periods of time for AP?
Written for the rather shortlived everything but oldgames?
Written the php code and mysql database backend for the last iteration of AbandonRom Paradise?
More recently, wrote this article in which abandonia got the most praise (joint with another) and outdid hotu fairly easily?

I find it interesting that you can call my (rather abstracted) comment a childish attack before going on to talk about winners and losers, and how you are the winners, and "us" as you would put it, the losers. I don't htink there's any space for winners or losers in abandonware, everyone has to pull together as a community, like the old days. You also can't go around slagging someone off as childish and then go around doing the same (also, going by uniques/day, I believe hotu is still "winning", even after 2 domain name changes).

You're a respected long-term member of HOTU community... this tends to give people an impression - no matter how right or wrong - that the speaker in some way represents the "official" stance of the forum seniors/staff on the subject.
