I'm looking for a old game that was also like space hog www.freelunchdesign.com .
You have power up and as you take them you can choose a diffrent wepond, and the game was 2 players too

the more power up you get but dont use you can choose a better wepon and after you take the wepons the power up ruler stat over again.
Well it dosent really matter what game you'll give me but i'm just looking for a two player game of spaceships, and that the powerups are accumulate till you use them and the more you accumulate the better wepone you get.

I don't prefer SHMUPS much, but one game that comes to my mind by your description is "life force" for NES. A classic.
