Is there a way(or)a program to hide the logged on message on winXP's Welcome Screen. Someone keeps restarting the computer when I'm logged on and stopping my downloads midstreem!!!

I wanna do this to the idiot :rifle: :P

So is there a program to stop or hide the logged on message on the Welcome Screen :wallbash:

Just to see if I get this right... you lock the computer while downloading and then somebody resets the pc (eg. shuts it down by pressing power button) ?
Don't think there is any program that can prevent that my friend. But I feel with you in regards to it :titan:

That's a though one. There's no way known to me that will allow you to lock the computer without showing that screen. You could try setting the screensaver to 'blank' and at a time of 60 secs or so (with a password). That way the screen will go blank and the 'This computer is locked and in use' screen will be invisible. However, that will not prevent you nemisis from pressing the power-button on the pc.

* LockBox is a security program that's designed for the Win9x/ME/NT/2000/XP user.
With LockBox you can leave your computer unattended at any time and
not worry about anyone prowling through your files , just click.

Windows 98 [v] Windows 2000 [v]

i don't know if it's only for MSI boards or not, probably not, but still, iam not expert on this=P

oh heh yeah, uhm, power off button is still there =]

Unless you can find a program or some way disable the power on/off button from the motherboard I don't think you got any luck... altho you could always open up the pc and remove the plug yourself... takes 5 secs if you got your manual telling you where it is ;) But then comes the issue of the crook pulling the power cord ;)

You could always try sitting at the computer.

I remember there is a way to disable the OS jumping back to the Welcome Screen after a period of user inactivity.

But, could you tell us who and - more importantly - where does that?

Bp103 06-06-2006 01:15 AM

I waned a program that makes it look like i'm not logged on stealth like
in other words the little thing saying i'm logged on I want to hide it :sneaky:

not the butten
he thinks windows runs bad when I'm logged on to.

I have one solutions.
1.Hide the logged on meesage on the welcome screen.
(I'll search for one). Logically if we can find a prgram its the only good way to do it if you disable the power button how do you turn the system on.If you stay at the computer it will get annoying because you may be hungry or somthing like thatand thats why you leave the computer in the first place.
