I might like it, but it's hard to tell when it goes about three minutes before claiming it can't find one of the random .cnv files that are in the folder.

Hm, can someone now explain me why I can only play with Dino Fagioli? |
Looks like a good game, but would have liked to know a bit about the plot in the summary.

It may be because the archive that is on the site now isn't the same as the one you used (or it may be that Doug has a mistake in his plot - the other two work just fine). EDIT: Doug seems to work just fine (except for some occasional twitches in the graphic). Which DOSBox are you guys using (I'm on 0.65) - maybe that's the problem. |
im playing the game as donna but i cant get a lift from the highway i have the mustard and the sign but i dont know where to go or who to ask for a lift like it says in the walkthrough please help
|
Ah, the walkthrough gives some strange things about the directions and locations. To get the ride you need to be to the left of the prison (first screen to the left) - you need the sign and you have to click it on a green car in the bottom lane.
|
My playing problem wasn't technical.
At the (I guess) randomly player selection screen, I always got Altruistic, Stupid etc., ergo Dino. I haven't tested this archive yet. |
Random? The only screen I saw wanted you to press 1 for Donna, 2 for Dino and 3 for Doug(h). I managed to do Doug's by saving almost every screen to minimize the loss from sudden dumps, but Dino's path is so laden with ineffectual stupidity it was giving me a migraine. I can think like a wanna-be genius, but not like a total airhead.

I have gotten to a point with Doug that I need to use a sheet with a rope. Both are in inventory. How do I do that? :help:
|
Yes - that is tricky.
Access your inventory, click on the rope and then back to your inventory, and click on the sheet. Or the other way around. Try it a few times, it will work. |
Never mind. Just another bug on this game. When I had a certain amount of items I couldn't use an item on another in the inventory. :Brain:
|
Cool looking game. :ok:
You realise that this is my 600th post that counts to my post count. :D |
Just looking for an excuse, aren't you! ;)
My excuse for this post: I'm glad the game is working out for you, Northowl. |
NOW I understand! You pick an object, and then right click ON YOURSELF! Just lucky I found that one out LOL :D
Oh, and thanks Master MC :D and congratz Win98  |
After you get the birds, how do you "livt" the Budda in Budda hall?
|
You shall have an ikon with "magick waves" from your hands. Use it to leviate the statue. Obviously picking up leafes gives you super mindpower. Gotta remember that next autumn :D
|
Got it!
THanks for the help! |
Thanx for saying congrats gonna download the game tommorow I am sorta busy on my pc right now.
|
Hi everybody.
did anybody solve the problem described by MASTER MC? I don't see any screen asking to "press 1 for Donna, 2 for Dino and 3 for Doug(h)" too. Instead I get a strange screen that flashes and than another one displaying, "Altruistic, Stupid etc., ergo Dino". please HELP  |
this game is way too hard, ie the puzzles don't make too much sense. i understand there's a walkthrough, but this game is far too difficult. for instance, right in the beginning you can get the mustard. however if you don't already know it's there, you can click in like 10 different places on the food stand and not find it....nice art though, maybe worth printing the walkthrough out...

Hi I'm playing with Donna Fatale and am stuck. In the walkthrough it says
Quote:
Thanks |
I'm playing Donna and I'm stuck. I have ticket to Kinza but cant figure out what I'm supposed to do with it. The walkthrough just says to walk to Kinza Square but I don't know where that is.
|
It seems scummvm has added the engine to play this game. Its seems to run alot smoother on scummvm as well. although you still have to have the copy protection codes to play the game.
|
The programe you use to play the game on does absolutely nothing to the protection codes, so it doesn't matter what you run it on, but what version. If you have a cracked version you won't need the codes, if you use the original (uncracked) version you'll need the codes.

1) You can find maps for Nippon Safes at http://home.flash.net/~rayearle/Nfiles/ They are very useful. 2) I played this a while ago, so do not remember exactly where Dino was, but I think he was standing outside the Sumo wrestling arena. He is a guy with a big build/body. In Kinza, there are only 5 locations : the Station (underground/subway), The Square, The TV Tower and Roof, and the Sumo Arena, so you would not have to look too far. The poster they refer to in the walkthrough is the wrestling poster, I think on the wall outside the Sumo wrestling arena. 3) Guest: in this game, you get around all over the place by either walking (within a city/area) or via the Metro subway trains, so always get a ticket for where-ever you want to go (from the newspaper seller - see Square 2 on the abovementioned map - as you have discovered) and go to the Metro subway (south of Square 2 on the Map) to travel to Kinza. The subway is underground so you go down steps to the subway. Take note of your exact surroundings when you emerge from the Kinza underground, so you can find it to return via train Regards, Wendy |
i downloaded and tried to run but didn't work = black screen after clicking right button on mouse - my DOS is 0.72 so what is wrong?
|
DOSBox doesn't run games automatically, remember?
|
rsdworker type intro

Maybe, if you would give full details, how you: -> try to launch the game -> your mount lines -> OS -> dosbox version -> ... whatever and whatnots, detailled? It's kinda hard to tell where you screw things up without even the most basic info from you. |
Quote:
and if you mean that you've read through the tutorial the "intro" command gives, "SHOWS BLAK SCREEN, DUZNT WORK" is a very strange way for describing what have you actually done and what the problem was |
Quote:
Again, remember that DOSBox doesn't start automatically when you're trying to run a DOS game. You need to run it first and then run the game through it. If you don't know WTF I'm talking about, read A Beginner's Guide to DOSBox - it should explain the basics. |
ok - i will clear up
i tried launch the game - via DOSbox - it loads and i chose the lanuage and i chose new game the green screen presented the choices - left click see intro or right click to start so i right clicked and screen went to blank screen it didn't change to game screen edit: when i left clicked for intro - it freezes with a error message - hard to see i set lines as C:\OLDGAMES\NIPPON so when DOS loaded - it was able to start the exe my os is window xp - all other games work fine DOSbox version - 0.72 - i don't know if it that problem |
Once again:
Your exact mount lines, detailled, as you input it in dosbox. Your exact inputs to run your game, detailled. Something as mine: mount c e:\games\ c: cd nippon nippon Can't be thàt hard to post those..... djees man. Not something as "i set lines as C:\OLDGAMES\NIPPON". That's NOT a mount line nor an input. |
the DOSBOX is mounted on c:\oldgames then cd nippon then ave exe - i hope this will clear up:oh:
|
Quote:
And: Still not your mount lines. *sigh* Whatever you must launch the game with nippon ,not with adv, it does a check that way and enables the crack. Again: NOT with adv but with nippon. Capiche? Again as you seem to have a problem understanding some things: nippon |
great - game works now

Leave Cab?
Hi!
How do I leave the cab just after the start? (Play with the smart guy) I looked at the doll and talked to the taxi driver... (Sumo... Of course...) Now I only can ask him how long it takes and he says relax. I can ask him 10 times or just wait 10 minutes. Nothing happens. Any idea? I also looked at the trinket and the display. |
I used to love this game so thought i'd give it a go again.
unfortunately i got stuck very early on with Dino. i've been booted out of teh museum, picked up all the bill/posters, been to the restaurant and eaten beans, but i believe i need to barter the lighter at honest chans, and i can't!!! any suggestions? thanks |
HELP!!!!
I'm really hoping someone reads this. I'm playing as Doug and have just visited the restraunt. It says to walk to park bench and show the orange bill. Problem I'm having is there are TONS of park benches in the park. Now I've stood in front of the one IN the frame witrh the restraunt and read the bill but can't get the otion to show. Anyone know where to go from the restraunt????
