I am starting this poll because I don't understand what's best for me. I have used all of them and I like using Winamp because of its simplicity and wide range of plugins available. It's the best free tool. Now I have to keep installed Real Player + Winamp in my computer, since WMP is universally in Windows OS.
I have used Jet Audio too, and its really amazing because of its features and video playback capabilities and support for real player formats. But I dont like using it because I have used it more than enough that now I need a change.
Anyway, just tell me what you use, i am interested in the response and comments.
thanx

WinAmp, of course, at least under Windows. I don't have any music on my Linux-Laptop, yet, so I didn't really bother about a proper player, yet ;)

xmms for audio
xine for video

BeefontheBone 10-02-2006 08:36 AM

Same as Data on my Debian install, WinAmp in Windows (though I've ended up with Real player and SonicStage installed for various other reasons).

i use BS player on video, that program is great

WinAmp, MusicMatch, Real Player, WMP, QuckTime... in short, I use all of them, to support varius file formats. Most of the time I use WInAMP, but lately I don't listen any music so I haven't used it in a long time.

Otherwise, Eagle Player on Amiga. :ok:

Tulac 10-02-2006 12:26 PM

I use crapTunes for music, and Windows Media Player Classic ( it's an independant version that looks like the olde WMP, 6 or 5 I think and supports most of the imaginable codecs)...

The Niles 10-02-2006 12:33 PM

VLAN for video most of the time. WMP for audio (don't do that often).

Quintopotere 10-02-2006 03:23 PM

I'm using Winamp, WMP, RealOne, QuickTime... there are just too many formats to be read :hairpull:

Winamp for music and videos.
Windows Media Player for videos with multiple language tracks, since the old Winamp version I am using has trouble playing them (reads only the primary audio track).

win98 10-02-2006 04:56 PM

Windows media player since I we have had it since our first win95 computer.(I don't want to change yet.)

I had also Real Atlternative, a Wimap medi player like, but it comes the the codec to read real files :D (and div-x and X-vid)

Gelfo 10-02-2006 09:50 PM

Currently Winamp for music and WMP for videos

Danny252 11-02-2006 09:59 AM

Me too

Windows Media Player for all music. Doesnt use Winamp much. I Use Jet Audio for conversions, recording and all. Those features are really great in Jet Audio. By the way, does anyone know a converter to convert Real Media(Video) to Mpeg?

SupSuper 21-02-2006 05:44 PM

iTunes for my game music library (WMP is broken), MPC as an overall audio/video player, ModPlug Player for MOD/IT/S3M/XM/UMX, GAP to rip some game audio formats, DeliPlayer for various exotic Amiga formats and RAD Video Tools for Bink and Smacker formats.

Stebbi 22-02-2006 01:33 AM

Vlc And WinAmp

Reup 22-02-2006 07:13 AM

Winamp for mp3 and some audio-streams from Live356, Realplayer for some web-television streams, 'cause its streaming is way better then MediaPlayer$'
For most other video I use BSPlayer, but for weird formats/codecs, I use VLC Media Player. Finally on Linux mostly xmms.

I think for me there is no point than using more than 1 player. Windows media player is fine.
