NO ADDRESS!!!!!!!
(ID theft) Country-State(OR)Province-City I'm in USA-marryland-Risingsun where are you |
Try saying something at least interesting or informative about where you live. For example, I live in Coventry, where the jet engine and bicycle were invented (modern bicycle with pedals and stuff).
|
I live in Turin (Italy)
Well, we'll have the next winter olimpics... here there is the headquarter of the FIAT... it should be the capital of the italian ice cream... |
I'm from Eindhoven, where Philips was founded and PSV plays soccer (not that I care :P)
|
it was a starter live with it.
but this has to do with maryland Harriet Ross Tubman, was born a slave on a plantation in Dorchester County, Maryland, in 1820. She escaped to freedom when she was twenty-five, but returned to Maryland to establish an "underground railroad" where she conducted over 300 slaves to freedom. During the Civil War, she served as a nurse and a spy for the Union. Though she was a victim of many beatings and sustained a severe head injury while attempting to protect a fleeing slave, Tubman was not deterred from her destined course as the "Black Moses" of her people. She is said to have rescued some 300 slaves, including her aging parents, from the slaveholding plantations they were escaping. Her efforts were so successful that a $40,000 reward was issued for her capture. Despite the risk of being captured, she continued to help runaway slaves. Hey look I'm not a newbie spammer anymore! |
I'm in my bed.
I've had this bed for 7 years. It's made of pine. It used to be a bunkbed, but we split it in two pieces, and my sister has the other half. The sheets are black, white, blue and red. The pillow case is matching. |
I live in the city where all the dutch royalties are buried. It's like the Necropolis of Orange. Sometimes it smells really nasty too, although that has got more to do with the factory, all the dead people are safely being held in the church ;).
Oh and one of our churches is shifted, like the tower of pizza. Speaking of which: there are also some really good pizzeria's here in Delft. |
@Spoonman: Is that a NiN lyric in your sig? Only rocks.
I'm sitting in a chair which I purchased from Argos and had to carry home, which was a lot of effort. It also features 2 cushions from Ikea, one of which has a chicken on it for some reason. |
I did not know you lived in a chair LOL
|
I'm in a city that has a history with long walls. kennedy was here. he said something about where he's from. want to take a guess what city i'm talking about?

I am from Ahaus - 20 km away from the super-snowchaos-city Ochtrup. We had just little chaos here but we have something very permanent ... an "interim storage facility for used nuclear fuel elements" ... wow I am proud ... and glowing ... an my sis has three arms and just one eye ... hmmm ... but those nuclear things are harmless - says the authority ... well then. :apple:

I live in Brisbane... In Australia. You know... Where the Brisbane River is?
|
That's boring Bobbin.
I live in Sydney, Baulkham Hills, the hill where the convicts started a war with the authorities over something useless, something about land rights. |
@Scarecrow: Yeah... well.... Brisbane has that thing that makes your state look bad... You suck!
(I went to Sydeny once. Quite a nice place.) |

You live in Aus too?
I see not. You've been there recently? Sorry if I seem to be picking on you. I do not intend to and I hope you haven't felt like I have. My last posts in reply to you seem to be like that. They're not meant to be. Sorry? |
No, but i read about it allot right now! The riots i mean!
I didn't mean anything with it tho! No offense! |
Quote:
And I've been to Brisbane a many times, most of my family are there, well not all are in it but around. I don't like the roads. But the most exciting of them all is Adelaide, only been there once for a couple days myself, but that will change one day. And the riots weren't as bad as the media are making them out to be, apparently. Just a bunch of nationalistic Aussies voicing their opinion and some people over reacting or so most people are saying. Anyway I don't live anywhere near Cronulla so I don't really care. |

I'm pretty sure Kennedy never visited any towns along the Great Wall of China. Myself, I live in a house that is over 100 years old (Australia has only been a nation for about 104 years) in a town/small city called Launceston in Tasmania. I don't think that anything really famous has happened here. Well, Launceston is the third oldest city in Australia, I think. Oh wait, we have the second highest amount of smog and air-pollution in the country. |

http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com..._the_prize.jpg ...and yea, I'm still in Northern Canada. It is currently -40C outside. I think we invented frostbite or something, I have no idea. I know we butchered the French language. |
Eh, it's not so bad. And we invented velcro in Canada, and had was is possibly the smallest civil war in history.
Northern British Columbia, here. I live near a humongous hydro-electric dam, and people come for miles around to pass through this town and head to Alaska. We once had people come to our town because they ehard we had the biggest potholes in the province. I wouldn't be surprised if it were true, too; there are some on pretty commonly-usedroads that are over a meter in diameter. Yeah, everyone here owns at least one truck for that reason. |
I live in the northern Ontario forest in a small mining community. It isn't exactly, as they say, a cultured environment, but hey, variety is always great.
|
Since this is about where we live now and not where we come from, I live in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Wales. The whole downtown is from houses from the 19th century, the one I am staying now is from 1870. The town is very famous for eh, a variety of reasons that I am not aware of. But, Aberystywyth was capital of Wales in like 1100 or 1300 or something like that.
Not the most exciting town in the UK, but not bad. The local town people fall into three categories, they don't give a muck, or they like non welsh (notice I am not saying non british because...), or finaly, they are "racists" against anyone who is not welsh. So, the same as in most parts of the world I guess. I live with one guy and 8 girls in a big house. Very drafty place though. |
I live in Coalbrookdale, Telford, in the UK. We invented a way to smelt iron, made ourselves the first iron bridge, and named our village after the coal, the brook and the dale, and the town after Thomas Telford, the engineer dude.
We chucked all the undesirable people over the river. They're in Brosely. We would blow up the bridges, but since one brings in the tourists, we're happy just to shoot on sight. Yes, we even chucked the chavs over there. |
I live in kissemee florida. And 5 minutes from disney!
|
I'm in San Jose, California :Brain:
3rd largest city in California (1. Los Angeles 2. San Diego) 10th largest city in the U.S. #2 in the U.S. for disposable income because the median household income is $71,000 Home of the San Jose Sharks, and of course...S.J. Sharkie :D |

For reasons I can not specify, I envy you to death. But I might pay you a visit in the near future. :bleh: I live in Funchal. We invented the curve roads, there's not one straight road that lasts more than a mile in the whole island. Population nearly 200'000, but reaches 550'000 in the summer with all the tourists. Sometimes I feel like the whole island is going to sink with all their weight. We're nearer Morocco than actual Europe (or Portugal), the nearest land belongs to Spain (Canary Islands), and these islands already featured in italian navigation maps before we were officially discovered by portuguese sailors in 1419. So basically, I could be spanish, moorish or italian, but I ended up being portuguese. Just my luck... |

In Croatia has been invented completely useless thing called cravat (necktie) :tease: I have no one. |
I went to Aberystwyth on holiday last summer (well, we were staying in a tiny place called Cefn-y-Coed but visited Aberystwyth) - it was quite pleasant but not very exciting. Nice art galleries, though :ok:

I live in Kingwood, Texas. Its just north of Houston.
Kingwood was supposed to be a community where the Civilized and more prosperous people that work in Houston were supposed to live. Don't look at me though, I am broke  |

I live in Mississauga Ontario, right beside Toronto.
|
Ok I didn't really give a satisfying answer the first time...
So. I'm in Reykjavík, Iceland. Home of Björk and Sigur Rós. Ask me tomorrow, and you'll get a whole new different answer :bleh: |
Leiria http://portal.rt-leiriafatima.pt/uk/euro2004/
http://www.portugaltravelguide.com/i...ia-castelo.jpg Now the source/statue is different (many lights with colors) The Leiria city alone has deals but the district produces glass (Marinha Grande) and ceramics(Alcobaça). We have good beaches but the Algarve (south of Portugal) is better |
I'm in Oklahoma City (motto: "It's a city. In Oklahoma."), where the parking meter and shopping cart were invented. A nutjob bombed the federal building here in 1995. He's dead now.
|
I'm disturbed by how conceited some of you are (Ahem, a select few Australians)
I live in the US. Which starts with a U. |

As for myself, I'm currently located in Kuopio, Finland. Internationally this isn't a very notable town (though ski jump enthusiasts should recognize the name), but quite well-known and reputable within Finland. The place is best known for some special cuisines (such as Kalakukko) and the incomprhensible sense of humour of the local folks. Also, the dialect here is quite distinct. I'm an italy born wop-kraut (hurray for self loathing) but my secret vault is in Toronto, Canada.

I live in Münster, a city in germany.
We have a huge university (guess why I live here). A point worth to mention is that Münster won the UN Livcom Award 2004. That means, it is the most liveable city worldwide. :ok: |
Wow, I guess I'm the only one living south from Equator...
I'm from S?o Paulo, Brazil. My city is the greatest in the country and the 4th greatest in planet. Fun stuff about my city? It's the capital of S?o Paulo State, the richest of Brazil (which doesn't mean that much). Recently it has been named as one of the most important fashion and cuisiness centers in world, aside New York, Milan, Paris, Japan etc. There are some nice commercial buildings, and the worldwide known favelas, or the slums. Oh, and we have the largest muck river in the planet! No kidding, it's a river full of muck! Its a nice place, yeah |
Why don't we all add ourselves to the frappr map?
