Just click on the pictures to see them enlarged :ok:

http://img500.imageshack.us/img500/9629/62hd.th.jpg - First of all let me present to you the real brain behind Abandonia: BETTY!

http://img426.imageshack.us/img426/5320/8a5hw.th.jpg - team: Borut (Sebatianos), Dino (OvErLoRd), Neven (Tulac), Viktor (Unknown Hero) and Romano.

http://img489.imageshack.us/img489/9349/12kc.th.jpg - Here Sebatianos is telling us how big the fish was (the one that got away).

http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/1450/34pm.th.jpg - All fed, but not fed up (want some leftovers?)

http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/5515/47bc.th.jpg - "You need to eat some more, to grow up and become a really big Unknown Hero!"

http://img500.imageshack.us/img500/8366/71nh.th.jpg - We had to behave, because we were under the strict eye of our host!

http://img426.imageshack.us/img426/1276/99so.th.jpg - In the end we had to work really hard, to put all of this up on the site!

http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/5903/104oo.th.jpg - Here's OvErLoRd, struck by the course of the cat-people (Betty)

That's all folks!

PS: We used Romano's computer, Dino's camera (he also edited the pictures), Unknown Hero transfered it all to the server and Sebatianos made the coments!

Tulac 13-11-2005 12:27 PM

Well all I can say is it's been nice meetig you people, hope we'll do it again sometime :D

Skumpaq 13-11-2005 12:57 PM

Hope you all had a good time. :ok:

By the way, what did you have for dinner ? :bleh:

Ines 13-11-2005 02:37 PM

That was exactly what I was trying to figure out! What is that food in a big pot?

What can I say. Nobody cooked for me in Brazzaville :ranting: but I'll be home soon so roll up your sleeves :bannana:

Good to see you all together. I hope you had a great time.

:bye:

Dino 13-11-2005 02:45 PM

We certainly had a great time! Oh, and food in the big pot is, (or should I say, was) ''risotto frutti di mare''.

We know that post office in Congo doesn't work, but they wouldn't accept rotten food anyway, so we can't send you some!

Fruit Pie Jones 13-11-2005 03:03 PM

Nice pics! Betty, though, looks somehow offended by the C# books!

No, she infact likes C#. You know how I know that? She scratched me and I think that 's because I prefer Visual Basic over C#!

Honestly, she really scratched my arm.

Nah, she was just thinking to her self: "Why on Earth did they buy these two books, I could have explained everything to them. What a waste of money."

win98 13-11-2005 06:20 PM

Did kosta go?

Sebatianos 13-11-2005 06:22 PM

Kosta is in Ireland right now (otherwise that last picture is taken in his very own room :D ).

I didn't laugh. I meant it as the grandmotherly way as you guys look so happy and glad.

That's only 15 more reasons for wanting to live in Europe!

Anyway - maybe you should really try to set up your own meeting (in your part of the world). If we can't get a world-wide meeting, maybe we can at least have many "local" meetings.

PrejudiceSucks 13-11-2005 07:59 PM

LOL A UK meeting. That has potential for Westwood-based hilarity!

Ines 13-11-2005 08:03 PM

They have France; and
They have Bush (as closest ally).

So, which 'They' would you choose?

Mixture of Croatian and Slovene, with random entries of English comments! Oh, and we used ''Meow!'' language to communicate with Betty, but she used somewhat ''scratchy'' language to communicate with me! :)

How about next meeting in Finland?

Nosmo 14-11-2005 10:23 AM

How about a netmeeting? that way we all could participate in what ever country we happend to live in and we would get to meet (sort of) all the great people who have made this site what it is?

Just a thought. Just DONT ask me to organize it because i can't organize a perveripal p*** up in a brewery , as it were.

Hey!
I missed you. Haven't seen you around for a long time. We did talk about you living quite close to Zagreb as well, so we were basically missing you at the meeting (would be even more international). I surely hope you will be able to attend the next meeting (there certainly is going to be one, it's just not certain when - the location will probably remain the same).

Dino 14-11-2005 01:51 PM

Sure hope our meeting broke the ice and now other will be arranged as well!

BTW, this topic is highly popular in the means of ''page views''. Right now, about 25.5 hours from opening of the topic, it has had 3612 views, which makes 141.65 views per hour, thus making 2.36 views per minute. Interesting stats.

punch999 14-11-2005 03:24 PM

Sounds like you all had fun. I hope for more meetings. In more areas

Abi79 14-11-2005 03:26 PM

Maybe a combined Dutch/Belgian meeting? For instance in Antwerp (BE) or Eindhoven (NL). If the latter I can host :D

Sean 14-11-2005 04:42 PM

Thanks for the invite?

Seb is nothing how I imagined.. he looks so Teacherish. I thought he would be a cool non teacherish bloke LOL!

Going by train to Antwerp is a bit too expensive for my tastes...

Anyway, I'm glad to hear all you guys had a good time. I hope there will be more meetings like this one :ok:

Sebatianos 14-11-2005 06:41 PM

Oddly enough, the fondest memory I have of the whole weekend is in no way conected to any of the members or the meeting itself...

It was at the expo, while we split up and I went off to buy Rainwife some cotton candy. There were some drumbers playing drumbs (still not really sure why, but it seemed a part of some programe) and I was waiting in line. Two elderly cleaning ladies came by and one of them started empying the waste basket (and she was 'dancing' to the beat of the drum while doing it). Both of them were just leaving when I got to the cotton candy guy, but before I could tell him what I wanted (he also had some other sweets) he called for the two cleaning ladies and gave them a huge lollypop each (those huge things shaped like a smiley winking at you). that really made their day, and I must say it brightened mine too, to see that people still do random kind stuff to complete strangers simply because they're in a good mood :ok:

Danny252 14-11-2005 06:53 PM

Now why dont people give me those things? :P

Because you're not an elderly cleaning lady?

Sebatianos 14-11-2005 10:51 PM

MAybe because you're focused on recieving and are missing the point of the story... It's not about getting something for free, it's about giving something, to make others feel better.

Anyway, I'd like to see what were the memories of other people (although I think I know for OvErLoRd - Betty's claws :bleh: ).

Blood-Pigggy 14-11-2005 10:54 PM

Although I was never at the gathering, my memory is the way Seb looks like a zombie on the picture right before Overlord's cat wounds.
Must be because of the way you closed your eyes when the picture was taken, just a little of your eyes show, so it kinda looks like they're rolled back into your head, like some sort of zombie.
Quite a fascinating coincidence actually.

Hmm there are a lot of memorize I will treasure for ever - I couldn't focus on only one thing...
For instance:
Romano telling me I know a lot about sports (not that I don't, but it is nice to hear it from an expert :D ) and talking
Overlord beeing interested in the pussy aka Betty :sneaky: and being very polite all the time
Tulac I have only seen on Saturday, but as far as I can tell he may be shy at first, but he is a nice person when you get to meet him :ok:
"Unknown" Hero isn't unknow, but he is a hero. Hmm, what to say about him, maybe I was taken by him the most (no offence others), because he is such a sweet "boy" - maybe not with best of manners  , but just crazy (Ludnica) enought :D Maybe I miss my sister and he reminded me on her - yeah yeah, I know, I'm sentimental.
Well, about Seb - let's not go into that :D

Anyway - you can all see that (at least I, but I think all) had a great time and I can only say :tnx: Romano once again for everything and stay the same as you are!

P.S.: Kosta - if Betty seems a bit of shape (physically) do not blame your father, Seb and I bought her some food and we couldn't resist feeding her - sorry :kosta:

Well, first of all, thank you for your kind words!

And now, since you gave us all so much praise, I have to say that it was great getting to know Borut and you. You're both fabolous and interesting persons! One thing that really got into my memory is Rainwife talking to Unknown Hero and him not understanding one single thing (he just kept saying:''Šta?'') LOL

I had a wonderful time, we really spent some quality time together, with lots of laughs and great moments! So, thank you both for visiting us! And thank you, Romano, for being a nice host and preparing tasty lunch!

One thing that really got into my memory is Rainwife talking to Unknown Hero and him not understanding one single thing (he just kept saying:''Šta?'') LOL

:ot:

Well, when he was in the car with Seb and me he didn't ask me to repeat, he understood everything....

Maybe Hero is/was scared of somebody else in the room :sneaky: or he was thinking about something else
:ot:

Actually, it isn't off-topic, it's still talk about our meeting.

:) Yes, I was joking, it just happened few times, but in a row! So I just found it interesting...

And your Croatian isn't bad at all! :ok:

Yeah it's more of you being "afraid" to speak it ;)
You should here my Slovene then you'd have a laugh...

rainwife 16-11-2005 09:15 AM

The funny thing was, that when I came home, I wanted to speak Croatian - not that my parents wouldn't understand, but it seemed odd.
Yeah, maybe next time, you should talk Slovene to me :D

atomos 16-11-2005 05:51 PM

WTF???? VI HRVATI??? :eeeeeh:

MI HRVATI, MI HRVATI, MI HRVATI, JEEEEEBOTE KOLKO NAS IMA, JEEEEEBOTE KOLKO NAS IMA....................... :D

Dino 16-11-2005 05:57 PM

Hi, atomos! First and foremost, this is English-only forum.

Second, check your PM box!

Erm, I suppose that roughly translates as "Wtf? You Croat? Me Croat, me Croat, me Croat, gee, but Kolko has no MA, gee, but Kolko has no MA"

Or maybe not.:P

That would be exactly as follows:

''WTF? You're Croats? We Croats, We Croats, We Croats, OMFG there's lots of us, OMFG there's lots of us!''

Doesn't make much sense in English, because it's something our sport supporters cheer during the game. ''Jebote'' wouldn't actually mean ''OMFG'', but the context is similar.

A. J. Raffles 16-11-2005 07:08 PM

Oh well, close enough.:D

Unknown Hero 16-11-2005 08:20 PM

Jebote, sorry for late reply! :D

First of all I want to thank Romano for great lunch and dinner. Yummy!!! :apple: <== "EAT ME! EAT ME!!!"
Then I would like to thank him for accommodation, too. (I didn't mess up Kosta's bed, didn't I? :D )
Now, what more can I say 'bout Romano? He's workaholic (don't kill me), patient, and generous. All in all, great man that organized this meeting completely alone. :max:

Overlord is my old friend from Split. We have already met there, and he didn't change a bit! He's still a good fellow, good student (wow, I hope I will pass all exams in time when I go to university), ....and rocker of course!!! :Titan:
Now Betty was a problem! :butcher: She taught Overlord a lesson: "Don't make cats mad!" :D ...and yes, she like C# a lot.

"Unknown" Hero isn't unknow, but he is a hero. Hmm, what to say about him, maybe I was taken by him the most (no offence others), because he is such a sweet "boy" - maybe not with best of manners  , but just crazy (Ludnica) enought :D* Maybe I miss my sister and he reminded me on her - yeah yeah, I know, I'm sentimental.
Rainwife, you make me blush!!!
I also noticed that you watch sport on TV. Tennis was your favorite! :)
BTW your mixure of English-Croatian-Slovenish was so entertaining!

Seb was just the way I imagined him! Funny and cheerfull. There isn't a bit of proffesor in him! Lucky kids in his class...
BTW Seb and I have the biggest quoting pyramid ever!!! :)

Tulac is party boy! He likes to hang out with his friends (that's at least what I noticed). We had one meeting before already. And on that meeting he couldn't come first day, because he felt somekind "mamuran" (drowsy).
:D

I'm looking forward for next meeting!!! Romano organize it as sunnest possible, I want to eat more of frutti di mare! LOL

@UH: Isn't that the longest post you have ever written? :D

Oh yes, thanx so much for those DVD's, they're filled with great stuff! My rocker soul is highly satisfied with those videos! :kosta:

BTW, you already forgot that crazy night in The Movie Pub first time you were here? Now I'm disappointed... Infact, angry! :ranting:

LOL

If you don't believe it - check it out (BTW - the part at the bottom should be quoted as well, but the boards can't handle it anymore  :

There was a post here so long, the script couldn't handle the post anymore, but it's now removed

Dino 16-11-2005 08:44 PM

I was thinking about quoting your last post, but the sensible side of me prevailed! :)

I feel privileged being amongst few people who can understand your pyramid (perverznjaci!)! LOL

Danny252 16-11-2005 08:45 PM

Holy.. the whole forum has turned into a quote.. really!

Havell 16-11-2005 08:46 PM

The bottom part of this page is broken, that's a pretty damn big quote! LOL

EDIT: Fonts/line spacing are also broken.

Sebatianos 16-11-2005 09:00 PM

Well now after you've seen it - I can edit that post and remove some of the quotes - to return things to a more normal status) :bleh:

Danny252 16-11-2005 09:03 PM

Its completely broken now.. I can see the tags, but they aint displaying...

Tulac 16-11-2005 09:04 PM

That pyramid makes me dizzy

Havell 16-11-2005 09:05 PM

That's a the tricky thing about nested quotes, there have to be the same number of open and close tags or the whole thing goes pear-shaped.

BeefontheBone 16-11-2005 10:03 PM

I reckon it just breaks when you have too many quote tags in a post, actually - happens in the grammar section (shh!) quite a lot.

rainwife 17-11-2005 07:03 AM

Seb - u spammer :tomato:

Sebatianos 17-11-2005 11:17 AM

@Rainwife: That's right. I've been a bad boy, come to my room.

Anyway - should I maybe remove that whole quotes... It's very long and the majority won't be able to read it anyway...

Shrek 17-11-2005 12:48 PM

Wow, Sebastianos! nice pyramid :ok: of couse the only things I understood were the smilies :D and that link to the "albinoblacksheep" site :roflol:

Tulac 17-11-2005 02:07 PM

You could remove since it has no real purpose ;)

Iron_Scarecrow 02-02-2006 03:01 AM

Playbahnosh 02-02-2006 10:02 AM

Hey Seb, we should do another meeting soon ;) There are chances that I will actually go too :tomato: preferably in the spring holiday?

Danny252 02-02-2006 08:51 PM

Croatia.. that country seb lives in next to Croatia.. is everyone here from around there? LOL

Yobor 02-02-2006 09:06 PM

Mmm....
A DC one would be better for some people.

Master MC 02-02-2006 10:33 PM

Nooooo........ Tanzania would be best for everyone.

Playbahnosh 02-02-2006 10:53 PM

I think I can organize one here. Hungary is a cool place I think but I'm a lil bias in this matter :P

Yobor 02-02-2006 11:01 PM

Makes me sad.....
All the US people get left out...

Sebatianos 08-02-2006 06:52 AM

Well, I've been getting some questions about yet another central European meeting of Abandonians... The questions automatically arrive: when, where, who'd come?

Playbahnosh 08-02-2006 08:16 AM

Zagreb looks like good spot ain't it? It's not too far from here... Again I can offer a whole Hotel*** for you guys here in Veszprém(Hungary) but that could could cost money... :tomato: and this is a beautiful city if not for anything, than for the first university in central europe :D beautiful scenery and sights n stuff... and no, I'm not advertizin :D The time? well the spring holiday could work, but I don't know... as for who will come, I will Fo' Shizzle :ok:

Tulac 08-02-2006 08:26 AM

Well if it would happen in Zagreb I could go anytime ^_^
I could go other places, depends where really...

Dino 08-02-2006 09:47 AM

I somehow think Zagreb should be the spot! :)

It could become a tradition...

rainwife 08-02-2006 09:53 AM

OK - count me in! :ok: :bleh:

Unknown Hero 08-02-2006 05:19 PM
