I once had a dream 'bout going past plowed fields with them standing in it... and it felt so right I just adore them ever since. I'd like to be one of the shoebills standing on one of those fields, if I'd be a non-human animal.

Well here's my choice (I'd actually prefer that to being a human):

A two- or a threetoed sloth? Not that it really matters, they're both pretty lazy, but having that extra toe could be that Darwinian advantage you need :P

As for my own choice: I would have picked a sloth too, but Tai beat me. Allthough we could probably share a tree, sloths are actually highly agressive and fighting with Taikara seems like a bad idea...

So I'd rather be a wooly mammoth! I'd be extinct, but still cool :ok:

I'd like to be a Giant Fruit Bat (Pteropus Vampyrus) It lives only on 1 island, with two hills on it. Every morning, the bats fly to the other corner of the island and eat the fruits of the trees growing there. After sunset, they fly back. They haven't got any natural enemies, and they're not doing anything else. So it would be a pretty easy life. :D

I bet lots of old people would like to be that bat.

I like the idea of just appearing anywhere I need to go, devouring everyone who comes too close and having a impressive posture even though I'm just a sapient pearwooden chest.

As for the animals in our universe: I like albatrosses. No natural enemies, hours of floating above the sea without getting tired and comfy cuddles with my female when I come back home :)

A sea creature might be fun - or a bird. Land animals are pretty much at the mercy of humans and, therefore, have a precarious existence. A swan might be nice as they have the freedom to go everywhere....on land, sea and air.

The bacteria thing is free (all you have to do is shed your mortal shell...)

And about the wolf benefits...

-Related to dogs (so the pee and walk naked thing apply here too)
-Always live in packs!
-You're authorized to brutally slaughter your prey in the most vicious way possible (and the National Geographic guys like that too)
-Mate a lot! (as in: have sexual intercourse at least 6 times a day)
-Hardly any enemies (face the truth, wolves own the earth)
